Hi! My name is Steph,
I am so happy you are here. I am a Kansas City Midwest gal who loves to cook real food, I say hi to everyone, and I love being a busy mom. I often wonder to myself, how am I doing all this? And the answer is, one thing at a time. It’s not always pretty, but I am learning how to heal my body from the racing, anxiety and worry that used to be in charge. I want to share how to do that with you! I bet you are a busy person who wants to eat delicious healthy food, who wants to wake up in the morning feeling good, who wants to enjoy their family, their kids, their honey. You want to feel present and excited about what your doing, not dragging through the day like it’s ground hog day, again. You want to listen and understand what your body and mind needs to care for you and your family. Our kids need us to teach them, to show them, to be there for them. The only way to do that is one little baby step at a time, pausing to ask what you need, pausing to listen, pausing to enjoy. I call this living radiance.
I have three amazing kids and one incredible husband. We are pretty grown up now. While my kids were being born, and growing up, I owned a catering business. I worked from home at the beginning so I could double duty as mom and cook. And most of our events were on the weekends when my husband would take over. I loved it, truly. Until I didn’t love it. I, and my sister, who was my business partner, were just done. Done with the long hours, the intense cooking, the menus, the stress, the dishes. We had built this amazing kitchen and business, and we sold it. I took a break, but not for long. I knew there was some way to bring my cooking experience, my love of yoga, my health and family life into balance.
Because here’s the thing, I’ve had a sensitive stomach my whole life. I’ve tried lots of different things. In my early 20s I became a vegetarian, all my symptoms improved immediately. I had more energy and my stomach aches stopped, for a while. Truthfully, I have been pretty stressed my whole life. I don’t know if this is a choice I made, if it was part of my path, or if I just didn’t have the tools to choose otherwise. At any rate, managing stress and making different food choices has changed everything. It had to be food plus stress management. Then our bodies change throughout life, so as soon as you have it figured out, something shifts again. By some magic miracle, this is when I was lead to Ayurveda.
I graduated from the esteemed Kripalu school of Ayurveda in 2011 in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. I completed their Ayurvedic consultant program, I traveled there six times that year! It was amazing. I came home after each visit feeling energized, clean, glowing and full of healthy living recommendations for everyone in my family, starting with me.
One step at a time, I have finally figured out how to share my love of Ayurveda, my love of yoga and my talents in cooking, I am back in the kitchen. Healing myself, and helping you heal your body, your mind, your family. I hear from so many moms that it is such a treat to be nourished. And I love nourishing you, it’s a gift I can give. I had to start by nourishing myself first. I am still working on it, I am far from perfect, that’s what you love about me:)
So if you live in Kansas City I am happy to give you a night off cooking with healthy food for your family. And my absolute favorite way to nourish you is through my 4day radiance reset mini detox program. If you live close to me, you are lucky to receive the healthy living radiance food at your doorstep, but if you don’t live close, I have created an amazing 4day radiance reset online program that you can do on your own at home. It’s loaded with more than just healthy food ideas, it’s radiance living in every way from the tools I love in the practice of Ayurveda.
I am here to support you, to help you and your family unravel your healthy living challenges, to live a full and vibrant life and enjoy those around you. When you wake up just a few moments before everyone else, when you feed your body yummy clean food, when you move your body each day, drink water, have fun with friends and still have more than a little something left for your honey, you are living radiance, you are finding balance.
One more thing I would like to share with you, why I do this work. My mom was the most beautiful, energetic, generous, loving person ever, and I am not the only one who thinks so:) She touched so many lives through her work as a nurse, a mom, a Christian. She went to heaven in 2017 after fighting colon cancer. Mom took care of everyone. She made everyone feel special. She made us each feel like the most important person in her world and she encouraged us in everything we did. She lived with cancer without knowing for a long time. She did try to take care of herself, but she put everyone else before her. She loved learning about how to heal herself through food, meditation, yoga. But it wasn’t enough to heal her and the chemo wasn’t working. Mom would tell me, “Steph you have got to take care of yourself now! You have to get up before the kids and excercise every day. You know what to do.” I am a lot like my mom. I do run myself down, I do things for others before I do things for myself, not because I am that generous, because it’s easier. It’s easier for me to see what others need to do for healing than it is for me to make it happen for myself. I am changing that. My mom is helping me change that. Mom is still a shining light in my life. I miss her every minute. She is in the kitchen with me when I cook, breathing with me when I meditate and shining like the sun on me when I walk the dogs. Through her struggles, she helped us all understand the importance of healing your body each day, today, not tomorrow. When you take steps to care for yourself, you show everyone around you what is possible. I want to show you what is possible. You can heal your body, your mind, your family.
I love sharing the ‘tool box’ of Ayurveda that will help you find the balance you are looking for. How to live with ease, to love your body, to easily figure out what to eat, to move in a way that you enjoy, to rise in the morning with energy, and sleep deeply at night. It’s about more than losing the bloat (although that’s pretty awesome), it’s about finding the magic within you. Each of us has a unique constitution, and it’s time to listen to what your body wants and needs. In this journey, we encourage each other, we heal each other, we become an example of love. We heal ourselves and we heal our families.
Thank you for joining me!
Peace, love and green veggies, Steph
